Siddhartha
Siddhartha is a classic piece of literature written by the legendary author Hermann Hesse. The story is basically a fictionalized version of the tale of the enlightenment of the Buddha. Although the Buddha’s real name was believed to be Siddhartha Guatama, this story separates the two symbolically, as the main character is called Siddhartha, but in the story he is searching for a figure that was said to have reached enlightenment called Buddha. Infact, he even joins his followers and stays with the Buddha for a while in the story.
For people who like to read fiction, this book is an enjoyable, emotional, exciting, and very enlightening read. I usually give this book to people who have spiritual tendencies without even realizing it. It serves to help people transition from material skepticism to spirituality, by simply giving them the “nudge” that they have always secretly longed for.
Siddhartha is truly one of the most beautiful stories I have ever read, and despite it being a fictional story, it is filled with wisdom. It has achieved wide recognition because it has the ability to connect with many different demographics, from sincere spiritual seekers, to advanced practitioners, to just people who love to read!
This book would make a fine edition to any book shelf, whether you are a collector of spiritual books, or a lover a books in general!
